We’re seeking a driven, creative, organized, and experienced individual to lead our Park City market and help bring our magazine, digital platforms, and partnerships to life.

Position: Market Director

Overview

The Market Director is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of 100+ clients, driving advertising sales, supporting editorial direction, and ensuring a high level of customer service and communication across all client relationships. This role requires a balance of sales acumen, content collaboration, and operational organization.

Key Responsibilities

Advertising Sales & Client Relations

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of 100+ clients with a strong focus on relationship building
  • Deliver a high level of customer service and consistent communication to all clients
  • Maintain a client retention rate of 90–95% through proactive engagement
  • Identify and secure new advertising accounts for Dishing Magazine
  • Lead the annual account renewal process for existing clients
  • Communicate ad deadlines, updates, and opportunities clearly and professionally
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date client contact list and advertising sales grid, tracking seasonal sales totals to ensure clear visibility and transparency in overall sales progress

Editorial & Content Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the editor to develop story ideas for print and digital platforms
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of client activities and identify opportunities that can translate into compelling magazine and blog stories
  • Select and recruit three Local Producers for each bi-annual magazine issue
  • Assist in coordinating editorial content and overseeing magazine production
  • Review and edit stories to ensure high-quality, authentic content
  • Formulate blog ideas, assign them to contributors, and ensure each client receives appropriate promotion aligned with their advertising package
  • Facilitate and manage photoshoot coordination, assisting in all aspects of execution. Responsibilities may include coordinating with multiple stakeholders, attending multiple shoots per day, and handling day-of logistics as needed

Production & Publishing

  • Communicate production timelines and advertising deadlines to clients
  • Coordinate ad updates between clients and the design team
  • Ensure accurate client representation in magazine layouts
  • Proofread the magazine prior to print

 Social Media & Digital Presence

  • Manage social media accounts and produce a minimum of seven posts per week, including stills and reels, across Instagram, Meta, and TikTok
  • Stay current on trends to drive engagement and audience growth
  • Plan and execute social media giveaways
  • Track and report client coverage across digital platforms

Content Planning & Website Management

  • Plan and manage the monthly content calendar via Trello
  • Schedule blog posts and corresponding social media content
  • Upload recipes and editorial content to the website
  • Proofread and edit blog content

 Events & Community Engagement

  • Attend local food and community events for social media and blog coverage
  • Capture and curate content from events and client visits for social media posts, add assets to Dishing’s shared photo library, and provide clients with content captured based on requests and intended use

Distribution & Client Experience

  • Manage and execute initial magazine delivery from the publisher, including storage and distribution to all hotels, rental property companies, and rack locations within the designated distribution area
  • Deliver personalized magazines and client gifts within the first few weeks of each issue’s arrival to strengthen client relationships
  • Oversee and execute ongoing weekly magazine distribution to maintain consistent inventory across all locations

Operations & Administration

  • Track and collect trade owed, manage outstanding invoices, and maintain a trade collection spreadsheet
  • Manage accounts receivable by issuing payment reminders for outstanding invoices and tracking collections to ensure timely payment

Local Content & Listings

  • Update and verify happy hour and specials listings each season
  • Research and add events to the online calendar
  • Upload and manage events via WordPress

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales, marketing, media, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Passion for food, media, and community engagement
