Park City Community Church is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Summer Camp Counselors for our 8-week Summer Adventure Camp (https://www.parkcitychurch.org/camp). This program serves children entering 1st through 6th grade. As a counselor you will oversee small groups of campers, guide daily activities, lead morning meetings, and ensure that each day runs smoothly from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Supervision: Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for campers throughout the day.
- Activity Leadership: Plan and lead a variety of activities, including games, crafts, science experiments, outdoor play, and chapel sessions.
- Camper Interaction: Build positive relationships with campers by providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
- Behavior Management: Address camper concerns or conflicts with patience, care, and professionalism.
- Safety and Inclusion: Uphold safety protocols and create a camp culture that respects and celebrates diversity. Model respectful use of church facilities for campers, counselors and camp volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Previous experience in teaching, coaching, or summer camp settings.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be active and outdoors for extended periods.
- Willingness to complete CPR/First Aid training and Safe Sanctuaries Training (if not already certified).
- Background check clearance
- Outdoor recreation experience preferred
- Must be able to attend required training June 10th - 12th.
