Surefoot, the world’s premier ski boot retailer, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our corporate accounting team. With 29 locations across North America and Europe, Surefoot combines a passion for skiing with operational excellence.
Our corporate headquarters are in Park City, Utah, with additional retail locations throughout the U.S., Canada, Switzerland, France, Norway, and Great Britain. We also own and operate an athletic footwear and apparel company with retail locations in New York City and Southern California.
About the Position
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s financial operations. This position works cross-functionally with departments including Sales, Technology, and Operations, and is responsible for core payroll and accounting functions. The role also contributes to month-end close and ongoing financial processes in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Process bi-weekly payroll across multiple entities
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
• Maintain payroll records with a high level of accuracy and data integrity
• Handle sensitive employee information with strict confidentiality and professionalism
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting on employee changes, benefits, and compliance
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as needed
• Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience; seasonal industry experience preferred
• Strong proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of wage laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across teams
• High level of organization, discretion, and confidentiality
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal business environment
