Provide management support to the Executive Director, including, but not limited to...
Major Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Manage Museum Guide staff: Scheduling, hiring, training, payroll, and maintenance.
- Work at virtual experience exhibit: Physically check exhibits and give breaks to Museum Guides, fill in where needed.
- Resolve any issues with museum exhibits on a daily basis.
- Maintain exhibited artifacts according to museum best practices.
- Research and prepare reports – i.e. exhibit sales, website sales.
- Education Program: Contact schools, organize field trips, help recruit volunteer docents and update curriculum and cart experiences.
- Museum members: Assist with new promotional ideas (Live PC Give PC), work on Excel spreadsheets containing various mailing lists.
- Assist with events – i.e. Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame; docent and staff recognition; exhibit unveiling.
- New ideas and projects welcomed!
- Additional duties as needed.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to take direction and lead by example.
- Past experience hiring, training, scheduling, encouraging, and managing employees.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with office operations.
- Strong written and oral communications skills with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills – Excel, MS Office required.
- Knowledge of website management and updating
- Ability to be both a great team player and to work independently.
Preferable Experience:
Hours and Compensation:
- 40 hours per week – flexible schedule, weekend work required.
