Job Description


Plans, coordinates, and implements all recruiting efforts with main focus on the United States (including local, destination travel coordination and assisting with International Recruiting) as a part of the Recruit Team. Assists with Academic Internship and Culinary Extern recruiting efforts. Maintains all databases and systems relating to hiring and applicant tracking (including database management in Kronos and Workday as well as any other systems connected to hiring.) Be instrumental in the continuing training and follow up with managers regarding manipulation of all recruiting systems. Takes the lead on all new creation of requisitions and rehires. Analyze data to help direct recruiting strategies. Research and maintain all recruit web postings and develop additional avenues and markets to gather applicants.  



  • Recruiting experience required - 3 years or more a plus
  • Previous interviewing and hiring skills required
  • Must be extremely organized with an acute attention to detail  
  • Must be able to multitask on a variety of projects 
  • Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of personalities    
  • Must possess strong communication skills and be able to work well under pressure  
  • Must possess strong computer skills including Office 365, Teams, Excel as well as report writing and development skills 
  • Must possess an intuitive sense of navigating software and be able to process information in a logical fashion to maintain accurate databases  
  • Must be available for overnight travel as recruiting needs dictate  



  • Organize, update and maintain all database systems related to applicant hiring and recruiting. Keep updated on all enhancements in the applicant tracking system and create training guides for managers. Update communication templates, job requisition templates, and reports as needed
  • Develop and generate reports for informational purposes and database maintenance
  • Analyze data from recruit reports to determine where applicant flow is coming from (i.e. websites, states)
  • Spend time with assigned manager/recruiter, point person of each department to keep abreast of demands and/or changes for each position and hiring needs
  • Plan and host training meetings for Hiring Managers on Recruiting Best Practices and Applicant Tracking System
  • Balance work schedule with the Recruiter-International Programs and Recruiting Manager regarding walk in job inquiries and correspondence
  • Conduct initial screenings of applicants and follow-up with applicants and hiring managers
  • Create job requisitions for seasonal and year-round positions. Confirm jobs are posted on Deer Valley External Job Site and other job boards, some of which require manual positing
  • Oversee the generation of an end of season Recruit Report by providing statistics regarding applicant flow, marketing efforts, year over year reporting, and hiring practices
  • Work with marketing department to update employment and staff websites, and collaborate on digital, social, and print ads. Assist with the creative side of marketing ads such as print ads, or e-flyers. Coordinate with Alterra Recruiting Marketing Manager for paid programmatic efforts
  • Update and monitor all employment profiles on job boards with accurate information and respond to reviews as needed.  

Applicant Management 

  • Research and build new partnerships with resorts and recruiters from similar hospitality properties
  • Track number of applicants, hires, cost per hire and cost per recruiter to determine the most effective recruiting partnerships
  • Follow up with managers to ensure all applicants have received a response
  • Follow up and respond to applicants when necessary
  • Review Application Process to ensure the applicant experience has high engagement

Recruiting Team Efforts 

  • Provide input in the development of a recruit plan and budget
  • Responsible for all out of state recruiting events/trips by planning, booking and organizing airfare, hotels, rental car and other expenses related to the job fair. Confirm Deer Valley representatives for each event
  • Ensure all trips are reconciled and follow proper D365 processes. Track all costs associated with each recruiting trip
  • Attend job fairs as assigned as the representative of the company
  • Register for certain virtual career fairs through Handshake, our college recruiting platform
  • Coordinate mass mailings of recruit information to colleges and other organizations
  • Assist in the planning and organization of all local recruit efforts including local job fairs at high schools, colleges and universities
  • Post or follow up on in-house job postings
  • Provide input in the coordination and development of recruiting posters, stickers and all recruit printed materials
  • Assist Recruiting Coordinator-International Programs with International recruiting efforts.  Assist Recruiting Manager with Academic Internship Program and the Culinary and Baking & Pastry Externship programs by performing general duties as needed
  • Send monthly updates to the Deer Valley Ambassadors and manage the Ambassador Program
  • Coordinate on-site recruiting events for summer resort partners including lodging and dining reservations, advertising, and room space


  • Assist Recruiting Manager with projects, tasks and correspondence when needed
  • Assist with other HR Functions
  • Should be familiar with duties and responsibilities of other members of the HR staff, having the ability to assist them as needed, and answer general questions as appropriate
