Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:  The Sales Manager roles is to solicit new business, oversee existing accounts which enable the resort to meet and/or exceed the projected revenue goals.  The Sales Manager will promote and sell a wide range of Deer Valley Resort products.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:                 

  • Focus on overnight accommodations and associated services within Deer Valley Resort and Deer Valley Resort property management companies.
  • Solicit new and existing accounts by prospecting, promoting, contracting to meet/or exceed revenue goals by means of phone, e-mail, in person, trade shows, open houses, familiarization tours, presentations, and other sales methods. 
  • Strong account management skills using Salesforce/DELPHI.FDC including sales/account management software.
  • Use negotiating skills and creative selling strategies to earn the business and negotiate contracts in the best interest of Deer Valley Resort.
  • Meet/or exceed predetermined annual lodging revenue and resort services goals as outlined in the sales budget.
  • Prepare correspondence to new and existing accounts in a timely manner.
  • Work collectively with team to develop creative ideas and proposals for events.
  • Manage and develop internally and external relationships.
  • Focus and plan on accounts with significant revenue potential.
  • Develop effective sales plans and actions.
  • Recognize overall market – competitors’ strength and weakness, economic trends, supply and demand to use as a selling strategy to earn business.
  • Provide authentic customer sales and service to grow share of the account.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Good working knowledge with Salesforce/DELPHI.FDC, MS Outlook software, Sertifi E Sign, SendSites, Cvent, Social Tables, Maestro and Duetto Revenue Management
  • Must possess strong organization and communication skill, self-motivated, multitask oriented and work independently.  
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Strong client and guest services skills.  
  • Ability to present verbal and written presentations to large or small groups.
  • Previous travel, hospitality and or ski industry sales experience.
  • Ability to travel to strategic trade shows, customer events and within assigned territory.
  • Must be available for a varied work schedule and additional hours and days as workload dictates.
