Our retail shop is a cornerstone of our mission - to make living clean easier, more inspiring, and more community-centered. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and community-minded Retail Shop Manager to lead our retail operations and elevate the in-store customer experience.

Position Overview

The Retail Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Free Living Co retail store, ensuring an exceptional customer experience while driving sales, managing inventory, and growing local engagement. This role blends operations, merchandising, marketing, and logistics. The ideal candidate is both creative and highly organized, with a passion for wellness and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Operations & Inventory Management

• Oversee daily store operations, ensuring a clean, welcoming, and organized environment.
• Manage inventory accuracy through regular audits, receiving, restocking, and rotation of products.
• Place orders with vendors, track lead times, and ensure optimal stock levels.
• Maintain product displays and merchandising standards aligned with Free Living Co's brand aesthetic.
• Monitor product performance and make recommendations for discontinuations or new additions.

Seasonal Planning & Merchandising

• Plan and execute seasonal product features and themed merchandising activations.
• Curate and order seasonal assortments and limited-edition collections based on trends, customer insights, and sales goals.
• Collaborate with leadership to create in-store experiences and product spotlights that align with our monthly wellness and lifestyle themes.

Budgeting & Purchasing

• Create purchasing plans and manage budgets for core inventory and seasonal items.
• Track cost of goods, margins, and sell-through rates to ensure profitability.

E-Commerce & Fulfillment

• Oversee the packing and shipping of online orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Track online inventory and manage replenishment.
• Maintain inventory syncs between retail and online platforms.

Marketing & Community Engagement

• Market the retail shop locally through community outreach, partnerships, events, and collaborate with the social media manager.
• Develop promotions to drive in-store traffic and customer retention.
• Act as brand ambassador and educate customers on clean living, product benefits, and Free Living Co’s mission.

Customer Experience

• Deliver exceptional service by offering product guidance, wellness education, and personalized recommendations.
• Build relationships with local customers and act as the face of the brand in the community.
• Train and supervise any retail associates as the team grows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail management or operations experience (wellness, beauty, or specialty retail preferred)
• Strong merchandising and visual display skills
• Experience with inventory management systems and POS platforms
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
• Passion for clean living, wellness, and sustainability
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be on feet for extended periods
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to self-direct and innovate
